The Journal of Michael Jackson Academic Studies has entered its second year. The interest in Michael Jackson and studying his body of work has gained more interest. This year we introduced featured interviews with authors who wrote compelling monographs about Michael Jackson. Another new item we introduced is the column MJ Studies Today written by editor Elizabeth Amisu.

We start this issue by looking back at the early beginnings of the journal. Karin and Elizabeth discuss the past, the present and the future of the journal in the second episode of The Dream Lives On: An Academic Conversation.

Academic and author Elizabeth Amisu introduces MJ Studies Today and reveals the cover of her forthcoming book The Dangerous Philosophies of Michael Jackson, His Music, His Persona and His Artistic Afterlife.

A third amazing contribution is the interview pioneer of ‘Michael Jackson Studies’, Dr. Joseph Vogel. He discusses his research and process of his book Man in the Music and his passion for literature.

In episode 3 of The Dream Lives On, Karin and Elizabeth discuss what Michael Jackson Studies is by going through a wide range of references.

Finally, Elizabeth Amisu discusses the news about a white actor playing Michael Jackson and other exciting news in the world of Michael Jackson in her second column MJ Studies Today.
