Abstract 
In this issue we published an essay from the Polish academic Aneta Ostaszewska, in addition we focus on translations of our articles in German, Spanish and Italian, and we also included an essay from Francesca Royster.

1. Editorial

One of the best things about publishing online is that we, The Journal of Michael Jackson Academic Studies, can reach many more academics and fans who want to read engaging research into Jackson’s art. We pride ourselves on reaching out to people who are genuinely interested in Michael Jackson and his work. In our mission to find books, articles and/or essays, we discovered the Polish academic, Aneta Ostaszewska, writer of Post Scriptum. Po śmierci Michaela Jacksona (Post Script. After Michael Jackson’s Death). Her contribution to this issue is an adaption from her book, in English. In her article, Michael Jackson’s Death as a Social Event, Ostaszewska answers the questions: How does popular culture deal with death? What does the media “do” with death? What do reactions of the media and its community “tell” about the media itself and the audience?

In addition, we have also included MJAS articles that have since been translated into German, Italian and Spanish. Some of our translations include the following: ‘‘Arrojar Piedras Y Esconder Las Manos’: La Personalidad Humana De Michael Jackson’, ‘Lanciare Sassi e Poi Nascondere le Mani’: La Natura Umana di Michael Jackson’, ‘Heard It Through The Grapevine’: ¿Estamos perdiendo a Michael Jackson de nuevo?’. The very fact that these translations have been created and well-received highlights once again Jackson’s international, global reach and his significance as a world figure in the twenty-first century.

Finally, we have also included a fantastic article entitled ‘‘Hee Hee Hee’: Michael Jackson and the Transgendered Erotics of Voice’ by academic, Francesca T. Royster, who specialises in race and gender studies. The article was edited and reworked into a fantastic chapter of Royster’s book, Sounding Like a No-No: Queer Sounds and Eccentric Acts in the Post-Soul Era published in 2012 by University of Michigan Press.

4. ‘Hee hee hee’: Michael Jackson and the Transgendered Erotics of Voice

‘Throats are part of the erotic act, commanding, whispering, swallowing. Through his cries, whispers, groans, whines, and grunts. Michael Jackson occupies a third space of gender.’ Francesca Royster explores the sexualisation of Jackson’s voice throughout his earlier solo works, ‘Off The Wall’, ‘Thriller’ and ‘Bad’ while contextualising his voice within the wider concept of African-American sexuality and its representation.
