Studying Michael Jackson’s ‘Invincible’: You Rock My World I
By Elizabeth Amisu
Released in 2001, and now well into its second decade Michael Jackson’s Invincible is by far one of Jackson’s most enigmatic and misunderstood albums. However, the creative power of hindsight offers us new ways in which to engage with its tracks and its construction. As we have said before, as the wheel of life turns, we often rediscover the magic of works that can signify anew to us.
In the first free video, I explore Michael Jackson’s 2001 short film, You Rock My World, and the aspects of film language that he uses in order to reinterpret himself through the power of cinema.
Thank-you for your thoughtful comments on The Journal of Michael Jackson Academic Studies dedicated Facebook, Twitter, and Website. I read all the comments, and I’m grateful these resources are helping you study, learn and grow.
